Dance into the season with 'Holiday Spectacular'

The Ann Lacy School of American Dance and Entertainment will present “Holiday Spectacular,” a performance of the Star Dance Company, from Dec. 11-14 in the Kirkpatrick Fine Arts Center auditorium.

More than 120 dynamic dancers will spread Yuletide magic with holiday favorites, new and exciting pieces, and vivid costumes, offering a graceful and entertaining reminder of the reason for the Christmas season.

Several artists have been collaborating for a show that seeks to sparkle and entertain. The magic of the season will unfold on stage as holiday sweets come to life and charm their way into your hearts. A trip to the North Pole will show a playful arctic destination abundant with elves, reindeer and dancing toys. There is a rumor that the Claus family will make an appearance as carolers rejoice, Christmas bells ring and snow falls as dancers sweep across the wintery wonderland to bring in the night sky. Through a tableau of love and community, the Christmas story will be told, reminding what lies at the heart of the holiday season.

OCU was the first dance program in America to offer degrees specializing in the entertainment dance forms of tap, jazz and musical theater. Dancers from across the country come to OCU every year to hone their craft and go on to successful careers in show business. Alumni are performing, managing, choreographing and teaching all over the world.
