Summer academy features business-themed adventures

Ұ University is now accepting registrations for its 2026 Summer Business Academy, an immersive three-day program designed to give high school students a head start on their college and professional journeys.

Hosted by the OCU Meinders School of Business from July 20-22, the academy is open to rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. The program combines academic exploration with hands-on experience, offering a unique preview of the college experience and the diverse career paths available in the modern business world.

Participants will engage in introductory classes led by Meinders School of Business professors. Beyond the classroom, students will gain real-world insights through exclusive tours of a major accounting firm and a prominent marketing agency in Ұ.

“The Summer Business Academy is an opportunity for high school students to build friendships, discover their passions and lay the groundwork for future success,” said Bob Greve, interim dean for the Meinders School of Business. “The curriculum and field trips are designed to not only educate but also inspire, showcasing the vast and exciting possibilities within the business world right here in Ұ.”

Program Highlights Include:

  • Sample university-level sessions in marketing, finance and accounting.
  • On-site visits to local business hubs and networking opportunities with professionals.
  • An exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the facility, including the chance to experience the 2028 Olympics canoe slalom rapids course.
  • Participation highlights students’ initiative and leadership skills for future scholarships and college applications.

The academy will conclude at 4 p.m. July 22 with a recap session on the OCU campus. Parents are encouraged to attend this final session to learn more about the school’s academic programs and scholarship opportunities.

Tuition for the three-day program is $195, which includes lunches, snacks, shuttle transportation to all off-campus excursions, a Meinders School of Business T-shirt, and admission to RIVERSPORT. Campers are required to have health insurance and must sign a release of liability prior to attendance.
